Senior Structural Draughtsman

For this position, applicants should have a relevant draughting certificate and at least 10 years of work experience in reinforced concrete and steel detail/design. Candidates must also have strong computer skills in the use of AutoCAD and Inventor. Experience in projects within both the public and private sectors would be advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities

Create 3D models from 3D scans in Autodesk ReCap.
Development of engineering drawings.
Development of fabrication drawings of the sections, as well as the general arrangements.
Generate material lists.
Liaise with clients and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs.
Communicating effectively with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors as required.
Keeping effective records of discussions/correspondence with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors
Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess.
Assist with the creation of work instructions documentation for successful site installations.

Job requirements

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in structural modelling and detailing.
Relevant draughting certificate or diploma.
Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit. Other 3D modeling software will be advantageous.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to structural design.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in creating technical drawings.
