Anglo-American Kumba Iron Ore employed JAD to assist with the design, draughting, procurement, and manufacturing of a vehicle inspection structure. The vehicle inspection facility is used to test the safe operability of all vehicles entering the mine, ensuring lights, turn signals, and brakes are all functioning correctly.
A 3D model of the structure was produced, ensuring the clients’ existing offices would fit within the proposed structure. Detailed steel member connections and sheeting were included in the model to streamline the design review process. The production of a bill of materials and cut list ensures all material is accounted for before manufacturing occurs. Shop detail drawings with extensive detail were produced, which meant the JAD workshop could quickly and accurately manufacture the steel members. With thorough quality control to minimize rework and ensure dimensional accuracy.

JAD also provided the corrosion protection (in the form of galvanizing) specification was adhered to by doing surface preparations and thickness tests. All the fasteners were also procured and packaged with their respective steel member to reduce the installation time on site.

Before delivery, the structure was pre-assembled at the JAD workshop, confirming dimensional correctness and ensuring no costly on-site modifications would be required.
