PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Safe access was required for inspection at an Anglo American crusher pit. The crusher that requires regular inspection is a cone crusher; the inspection is mainly for the health of the crusher's liners. JAD Safe Reach recommend the installation of a Pivoting Jib Boom with a self-retracting lifeline. The boom is installed on one of the existing columns of the building.
3D scanning and 3D modelling were carried out to ensure all required areas could be accessed. Analysis was done both on the boom and existing column, ensuring the required safety factors could be achieved for possible fall loads.
