Analysing & Design of Conveyor

A 24m long conveyor was assessed to determine if its structural elements would be able to support the additional loading of a newly proposed maintenance platform. Bracing, top and bottom chords, as well as connections, were assessed.

The gantry's serviceability limits conformed to SANS 10162-1:2011 and AA Specification 1140011. All bracing members were found to be adequate but numerous connections required strengthening.
